Il Borgo

Borgo Gaggioleto is a small borough, hamlet, on the east side of Val di Chio in the Tuscan countryside just a few steps away from Cortona and Umbria. It is nestled in the Tuscan hillside at about 400 meters above sea level and its structures date as far back as the 1600. It is composed of several unique historical structures that were carefully restored with the upmost respect for the original architecture and resulting in a variety of housing solutions for our guests. There are 2 independent cottages, Il Fienile and La Capanna; a charming large farmhouse divide into 2 apartments La Casa Rosa 1 and 2 both with their own independent entrance; and a historic building in the center of the borgo divided into 2 apartments La Palazzina 1 and 2 also with their own independent entrances.

Borgo Gaggioleto is located in a carefully studied landscaped huge garden where our guests will find marked hiking paths. The magnificent swimming pool is situated in a panoramic position with a breathtaking view of the Tuscan countryside and hillside of the Val di Chio. It is surrounded by an olive grove. The swimming pool is 15 x 8 meters and next to it is a small massaging pool for up to 8 guests.

All the properties are furnished with fully equipped kitchens with stove top, oven, refrigerator, and dishwasher, living areas with telephone, television and Wi-Fi internet connection, laundry area with washing machine, independent heating, and hairdryers. Our rates also include bed linens, bath towels, kitchen cloths and tools, dishware and silverware, cups and glasses, electricity, water, and final cleaning

Fienile

Il Fienile was the old barn that has been transformed into an exquisite independent villa with a large beautifully landscaped private garden and covered outside seating area with a barbeque and table seating 6. The Borgo’s magnificent swimming pool is 200 meters from the villa and can be reached with a short scenic walk in the properties private garden.

The Ground floor includes an ample well equipped kitchen with fire place and wood oven, living room with sofa bed, and a guest half bathroom . Guest go up a wood staircase from the living room to reach the First Floor. The sleeping area is composed of one bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom with a bathtub and another bedroom with a double bed and private bathroom with shower. This second bedroom is quite romantic as it includes a clawfoot bathtub in the bedroom that looks out a panoramic window.

La Casa Rosa 1

La Casa Rosa was the original farmhouse that dates from as far back as the 1600 to the 1800. It was restructured and while preserving the exterior of the original building, the interior was divided into two independent apartments.

La Casa Rosa 1 is an ample apartment located on the Ground Floor and composed of a well equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace, 1 master bedroom with a private bathroom with bathtub, 1 master bedroom with a private bathroom with shower, and 1 double bedroom with a bathroom with shower. It’s accessed from a charming portico with a private garden that include a barbeque and exterior table. The Borgo’s magnificent swimming pool is about 150 meters from the villa and can be reached with a short scenic walk in the properties private landscaped garden.

La Casa Rosa 2

La Casa Rosa 2 is a charming apartment located on the First Floor and composed of a well equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with fireplace, 1 master bedroom with private bathroom, 1 master bedroom with a bathroom with bathtub. 1 double bedroom with a private bathroom which has access to a loft with a reading / studio area. The apartment is accessed through a beautiful terrace. It has a private garden and the Borgo’s magnificent swimming pool is about 120 meters from the villa and can be reached with a short scenic walk in the properties private landscaped garden.

La Palazzina 1

La Palazzina 1 is a small cozy apartment located on the Ground Floor of a building in the center of the borough. The apartment is composed of a living room, a well equipped kitchen area, 1 master bedroom and a bathroom with shower. Although it does not have a private garden, our guest can relax in the common landscaped garden areas of Borgo Gaggioleto with its magnificent swimming pool and massaging pool located in a panoramic position with a breathtaking view.

La Palazzina 2

La Palazzina 2 is a large charming apartment laid out on 3 floors and part of a historical building in the center of the borough. Our guest access the apartment through a stone staircase from the ground floor. The first floor consists of a well equipped kitchen, living room with fire place and sofa bed and a half guest bathroom. On the second floor our guests will find the sleeping area which consists of one master bedroom with a private bathroom with bathtub and one double bedroom with a private bathroom with shower. Although it does not have a private garden, our guest can relax in the common landscaped garden areas of Borgo Gaggioleto with its magnificent swimming pool and massaging pool located in a panoramic position with a breathtaking view.

La Capanna

La Capanna , as its name reveals, was the farm’s equipment cabin which has been transformed into a real jewel. With respect to its architectural history, it has been deliciously restored into a cozy and quaint small independent villa that sleeps four and has access for disabled people. The Ground floor is composed of a well equipped kitchenette with dining area, a living room with fire place and a master bedroom with a private bathroom and shower which is accessible to disabled people. Guests go up the wood stairs to the First floor which is composed of a double bed suite with an ample bathroom with a double sink, clawfoot bathtub and shower. It’s accessed from a charming private garden that include a stone barbeque and exterior table. The Borgo’s magnificent swimming pool is about 100 meters from the villa and can be reached with a short scenic walk in the properties private landscaped garden.
